Planned Water Outage Notice – Friendsville (May 13)

The Garrett County Department of Public Utilities advises Friendsville water customers of a planned water outage on Wednesday, May 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The outage will affect areas on the west side of the Yough Bridge on Maple Street, including Water Street and Church Lane. Crews will be completing final repairs related to damage caused by extreme winter temperatures, and service will be restored as soon as work is finished.

Customers are advised to check cold water for any discoloration before use once service is restored.

Notice of Closed Executive Session – April 13, 2026 at 3:00 p.m

A Closed Executive Session has been scheduled for today, April 13, 2026, beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the Friendsville Town Hall Council Chambers. The purpose of this session is to discuss a Code Enforcement case and to meet with the Garrett County Commissioners regarding the Haloacetic Acids (HAA5) Maximum Contaminant Level (MCL) violation notices affecting the Town of Friendsville.

Community Park Amenities Schedule

Water service at the park will be turned on, and the pickleball and tennis nets installed, on the first Monday following the first day of spring each year.

Water service will be turned off, and the pickleball and tennis nets removed, on the Monday before Halloween (October 31), weather permitting and subject to the Garrett County Public Utilities schedule.

The Town of Friendsville is pleased to welcome Brandon Schmidt as our newest Laborer/Maintenance employee, beginning February 2026. Brandon joins our team with a strong work ethic and a commitment to serving our community. In his role, he will assist with the maintenance and upkeep of town facilities, streets, and community park, helping ensure that Friendsville remains a safe, clean, and welcoming place for residents and visitors. NOTICE OF MAILING ADDRESS CHANGE

Effective March 16, 2026, the Town of Friendsville will no longer receive mail at P.O. Box 9.

All mail will be serviced by street delivery at the following address:

Friendsville Municipal General Election Results

The Town of Friendsville announces the official results of the Municipal General Election held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

A total of 100 voters participated in the election.

Spencer R. Schlosnagle was elected Mayor of Friendsville.  Elected to the Friendsville Town Council were Michael Artice, Pamela S. Humberson and Edward B. Kelley.

The current terms expire on the first Monday in March, at which time the re-elected officials will begin a new two-year term.
