Maryland Big Tree Nomination

Members of the Friendsville Tree Committee, Mayor Spencer R. Schlosnagle, and Maryland State Forester Becky Wilson, gathered to measure a White Oak tree on the property of Dennis and Rachel Deigert. It was previously entered in 2008 with a circumference of 14 feet 3 inches; a height of 97 feet and average crown width of 110 feet. We are anxiously awaiting its new statistics!

Big Tree Nominations

Members of the Friendsville Tree Committee, Mayor Spencer R. Schlosnagle, Maryland State Forester Becky Wilson, Mike and Sandy Robinson representing Western Maryland Christian Center, owners of the White Oak Tree, gathered to measure the tree to be re-nominated for the Big Tree for the state of Maryland. Currently, the White Oak is registered as the Garrett County Champion with a circumference of 15.6″; height of 98′ and average crown width of 81.5. We are waiting to receive the new measurements!

We want to take the time to thank everyone who helped make Friendsville look festive this Holiday season.

The Anchor Church, Mike and Sandy Robinson and congregation for putting the lights on and hanging the roping that was put on the Yough Bridge.
